Day 5: Food Tour – Cape Town

Immerse yourself in the vibrant food and beverage scene in Cape Town on this half-day walking tour.

With your small group, follow a guide through the streets of Cape Town to stop at city landmarks and hidden gems you might not find on your own. Indulge in at least five food tastings to experience the flavour of the city firsthand.

Along the way, listen to insightful commentary on the city’s history and foodie culture from your guide.

Day 6: Head out to Londolozi for Safari

Cape Town – Londolozi 

Today, you swap city views for wild horizons as you make your way from Cape Town to the Greater Kruger.

After a smooth transfer to Cape Town International Airport, you’ll fly via Johannesburg and continue to the Kruger region (typically into Skukuza or Kruger Mpumalanga/Nelspruit, depending on schedules).

On arrival, you’ll be met for the scenic transfer into Londolozi, where the bush starts to work its magic almost immediately — that first warm breeze, the scent of wild sage, and the quiet anticipation of what might be waiting around the next bend.

Once you’ve settled into your suite, there’s time to exhale before your first safari experience. Depending on your arrival time, you may head out for a late-afternoon game drive, returning as dusk softens the landscape and the night sounds begin. (Exact timings today will be guided by flight schedules and the camp team’s recommendations.)

Day 7:  Londolozi Safari

Wake up early and set out on a morning game drive with your experienced guide, when the bush is most alive and the soft morning light makes everything glow. Explore the wilderness in search of Africa’s incredible wildlife before returning to camp for a leisurely breakfast or brunch.

The late morning and early afternoon are yours to relax at your own pace—perhaps a dip in the pool, a quiet read, a short nap, or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of the bush from your verandah. As the day cools, prepare for another safari in the late afternoon, when animals become more active and the golden light is perfect for photography.

As the sun sets, pause at a favourite spot for sundowners, then return to camp for a hearty dinner. Evenings are often spent around the fire, sharing stories, laughter, and reflections on the day, before drifting off to sleep to the gentle sounds of the African night.

These suggestions are meant as a guide to a full day on safari. Actual schedules and activities vary with the camp, the season, and wildlife movements, so it’s best to stay flexible and follow the advice of your camp team.

Day 8:  Londolozi Safari

Begin the day with an early morning game drive alongside a seasoned guide, when the bush is at its most active, and the light is at its best. You’ll head out to seek Africa’s magnificent wildlife, then return to camp for a relaxed breakfast or brunch.

Late morning and early afternoon are usually yours to enjoy at an easy pace, perhaps a swim, a good book, a nap, or simply soaking up the atmosphere from your verandah before heading out again for a late afternoon safari as the temperatures cool and wildlife starts stirring.

As the sun dips, you may pause for sundowners in a favourite spot, then make your way back for a delicious dinner. The evening often ends with laughter, quiet conversation and shared stories around the fire before you turn in, ready to do it all again tomorrow, drifting off as you lie in bed listening to the night sounds of the bush.

Day 9:  Londolozi Safari to Johannesburg

Londolozi – Johannesburg

After a final morning in the bush, you’ll bid farewell to Londolozi and transfer back to the regional airport (usually Skukuza or Kruger Mpumalanga/Nelspruit), then fly onwards to Johannesburg.

On arrival, a private transfer will take you to The Peech — a calm, leafy base in the city where you can slow the pace again and enjoy a more urban kind of indulgence. The rest of the day is intentionally light: settle in, refresh, perhaps enjoy a relaxed lunch or cocktail, and ease into Johannesburg at your own rhythm.

Day 10: Johannesburg

Half Day Soweto and Apartheid Museum

Soweto is an urban area of the city of Johannesburg, bordering the city’s mining belt in the south. Its name, an English syllabic abbreviation for Southwestern Townships, refers to its origins as a Black township under South Africa’s Apartheid government.

The population has historically been overwhelmingly black and some of the watershed events in the struggle against Apartheid occurred in this township.

On this tour we will discover Soweto and the surrounding area, driving past a hostel in Diepkloof, the well-known Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Orlando Power Station, Mandela House Museum, Desmond Tutu’s House, the Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum, a quick stop at a well-known restaurant, a shebeen, the Regina Mundi Church, Maponya Shopping Mall, Kliptown, Walter Sisulu Freedom Square and Aldorado Park. This morning you’ll transfer to Johannesburg Airport for your flight to Victoria Falls, one of Africa’s great natural spectacles and an unforgettable finale to your journey.

On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, your driver will meet you for the transfer to Batonka Guest Lodge. After check-in, the afternoon is yours to start soaking up the atmosphere, perhaps with a visit to the Lookout Café and the dramatic views over the Batoka Gorge, followed by an easy stroll along the viewpoints as the light shifts and the Zambezi gathers its voice.
