Growing up on a Zimbabwean farm with wildlife at his doorstep, his transition into professional guiding was an inevitability. Named Guide of the Year by the Zimbabwe Professional Guides Association in 1994, and later serving as an official examiner, Sean is known for steady hands, sharp eyes, and an unflappable “no-fuss” demeanour.
A celebrated photographer, Sean’s imagery has graced the pages of The Wild Heart of Africa and Kariba Birds. He is a man happiest outdoors, tuned to the intricate details most travellers overlook. After a decade of guiding and managing camps in Tanzania, Sean settled in Australia in 2016. Today, he designs and hosts privately guided safaris that favour thoughtful pacing, soulful character, and a sense of grace over flash. His clients value his calm problem-solving and genuine care, returning time and again for a journey made effortless by a true master of the craft.

Margaret Freebairn brings decades of escorted touring experience and a long-standing connection with Journeys Worldwide, having travelled with the company across Africa many times over. Her journeys have taken her by road, rail and private aircraft through South Africa, Eswatini, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, as well as through Egypt and Libya. She has also joined a number of private plane expeditions across the continent with Air Adventure, giving her a broad and well-rounded perspective on Africa’s landscapes, logistics and rhythms of travel.
Having returned to Africa at least 10 to 12 times, Margaret offers guests the reassurance that comes from genuine firsthand experience.
