  • Booking Phase: Full legal names, passport numbers/scans, frequent flyer numbers, and travel insurance details.
  • Sensitive Information: Vaccination status, physical fitness for safari/trekking, and dietary needs. We collect this only with your explicit consent.
  • Financial Data: Credit card information is collected only over the phone; most guests choose direct electronic funds transfer (EFT).

3. The GlobalThinkingApp & AI Concierge

To provide a 24/7 “Concierge” service, we utilise the GlobalThinkingApp.

  • AI Interaction: Our website employs an AI-powered Concierge via the GlobalThinkingApp to assist with inquiries and site navigation. When you interact with this service, you are communicating with an automated system.
  • Data Processing: Information provided to the AI Concierge is securely stored within the GlobalThinkingApp CRM environment to help personalise your travel experience.
  • Human Handover: Our AI Concierge is trained to handle routine inquiries. You may request to be connected to a human consultant, or be referred to our direct email and telephone contact details, at any point during your interaction.

4. Disclosure to Overseas Recipients (APP 8.1)

Crucial Notice: To fulfil your travel bookings, your personal and sensitive information must be disclosed to third-party service providers (hotels, safari lodges, airlines, and local operators) in: South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda.

  • Liability Waiver: Overseas recipients may not be subject to privacy laws as stringent as the Australian APPs. By consenting to this policy, you expressly agree to this disclosure and acknowledge that Journeys Worldwide Pty Ltd will not be held accountable under the Privacy Act for any subsequent breaches by these overseas parties.

5. Data Security and Protection

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices within the GlobalThinkingApp to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure of your data.

  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.
  • 72-Hour Rule: If there has been a security breach compromising your data, we will notify you within 72 hours of first having become aware of the breach.
  • Retention: We retain data only as long as necessary for business functions or as required by Australian law.

You have the right to access your personal data and have it corrected if it is out of date or incorrect.
